Cloud Adjacent Storage

Project Overview

Designed and contributed to Cloud Adjacent Storage (CAS)—a platform enabling Equinix customers to seamlessly store, connect, and leverage their data within Equinix. The solution was crafted with a focus on simplicity, offering an experience that is easy to purchase, operate, and scale. CAS facilitates effortless connections to clouds, other Equinix services, and Equinix ecosystem destinations, empowering customers to unlock the full potential of their data.

CAS Quote to Cash Flow

Led a key initiative within the CAS project to reduce the appliance provisioning timeline—from customer quote submission to delivery—from 2 months to 6 weeks. Recognizing challenges posed by siloed back-office teams, I proactively engaged stakeholders to map their roles in the delivery process. By visualizing the workflow end-to-end, I developed a shared framework that highlighted bottlenecks, fostering collaboration and driving efforts to streamline the process, ultimately aligning with the project’s efficiency goals.

CAS UX Mapping

Led an initiative to map the Metal Console experience, evaluating its current offerings and identifying enhancements to better serve storage customers. The analysis revealed the absence of a notification system, a critical gap in ensuring a seamless user experience. In response, I developed a proposal to introduce meaningful and actionable notifications, empowering users with timely insights and enhancing their overall interaction with the platform.

Quarterly AHA Requirement Review

Demonstrated expertise in quarterly planning by consolidating requirements into a single, well-structured board. Each requirement was systematically cross-checked to identify conflicts or unmet prerequisites, with key areas and clarification points highlighted for transparency. This organized framework was shared with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity before the new quarter began. The approach fostered a smoother, more efficient planning process, enabling the team to focus on delivering impactful outcomes.

CAS Discovery Page

Transformed the CAS onboarding experience on the Console by addressing usability challenges for new customers. Previously designed for experienced users, the system required navigation across multiple portals, including a separate site (deploy.equinix.com), to access product information. To enhance the experience, I proposed and implemented product-specific landing pages, starting with CAS. This initiative centralized information within the Console, enabling users to seamlessly discover, compare, and understand offerings, fostering a more intuitive and user-friendly customer journey.

Quoting Experience

Redesigned the CAS experience on the Console to accommodate the high-investment nature of storage appliances, recognizing that customers were unlikely to order appliances directly online. The proposed design introduced an interactive Self-Serve Reservation Tool, allowing users to explore options freely and generate detailed quotes for download. To further streamline the process, the design included an integrated feature for connecting with a specialist, ensuring the generated quote was automatically sent to facilitate faster, more informed discussions. This approach balanced user autonomy with personalized support, enhancing the overall customer experience.
